Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park will be offering free admission to Florida firefighters (professional and volunteer) and their family members / carload (up to 8, good for one day) during the months of August and September 1998. This offer is being extended as part of a salute to Florida firefighters who valiantly battled the recent blazes that threatened to engulf parts of Florida. The Salute to Florida Wildfire Heros was spearheaded by the Florida Attractions Association who enlisted the participation of 70 Florida attractions. All Florida State Parks are also offering free admission to the firefighters and their firefighters and their families during this same two month period. There are more than 30,000 firefighters who helped fight the wildfires that raged through the Northeast and Central Florida earlier this summer. |
