Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park will be holding an Earth Day in Florida Celebration on Saturday, April 25, 1998. This daylong event will offer educational exhibits at which visitors will be invited to discover the answers to Earth Day in Florida questions. Visitors who find the answers to the questions will receive a package of Earth Day goodies and the opportunity to participate in a drawing for donated prizes.

Groups, businesses and individuals interested in setting up an Earth Day display at the wildlife park are asked to contact Susan Dougherty or Chris Burk in the park's office by calling (352) 628-5354, Monday through Friday. Applications will be available in the park's Visitor Center and at the Homosassa Springs Area Chamber of Commerce and Citrus County Chronicle's main desk and can be mailed upon request. Completed applications should be delivered to Susan Dougherty in the park's office in person, by mail or FAX. Exhibition Locations will be assigned as applications are approved.

There is no charge for educational exhibits. Artists and crafters who desire to sell merchandise on a Florida Earth Day theme at their exhibit will be charged a short-term vendor fee payable in advance for the day.

In addition to the Earth Day exhibits and the park's educational programs, there will be a volunteer recognition ceremony.
