Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park To Conduct Children's Summer Program - Wildlife Week in the Park |
| Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park and the Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park will conduct a pilot summer program for 20 children, ages 8 to 11, from July 27 through August 1, 1998. Sponsored by Florida Power Corporation, the program will include five half-day workshops from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. covering a variety of environmental themes. Children will learn about Florida's native animals and plants, endangered species, water quality, and wetlands. On the sixth day, the children present "Wildlife Theater" to their parents and participate in a garduation ceremony.
Applications are available from the Park Office at 4150 S. Suncoast Boulevard, Homosassa. The cost of the program is $25.00, includes 5 lunches, T-shirts, supplies, and goodie bags. Selection of attendees will be made by lottery from the completed applications received by 5:00 p.m., Friday, June 12. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
